Keeping your little elves entertained over the Christmas holidays can be tricky, but never fear, we’re here to help. We can’t stop them eating too many festive sweets or discovering where you’ve hidden the presents, but we can offer three simple ideas that will hopefully keep them out of mischief!
Take a photo walk
Wrap up warm, grab a camera and head outside to see what you can find to take photos of. The wintry landscape offers lots to capture on camera, from frosty fields to bright berries…and maybe even a smiling snowman if you’re lucky!
Let the kids take control of the camera or your phone and give them the freedom to snap whatever catches their eye. Little ones see the world in a completely different way, and this will really come out in their photos. For more tips to help your mini photographers get to grips with using a camera, take a look at our blog post for a beginner’s guide.
Create a 2016 collage
Birthday parties, playtime at the park, those pictures they took on your photo walk…you’ve probably got hundreds of snaps from the past 12 months with the kids. Print these out and get your little elves to stick them to a big piece of card to create a colourful collage of the best bits of 2016.
Or, if you don’t fancy risking everything getting covered in glue, use our new Square Prints to create your own photo bunting. All you need are some prints of your favourite moments from the year, some pretty ribbon or string, and some mini craft pegs. Let the little ones choose which pictures you peg up, and the best part is you can change them whenever you like.
Do some festive baking
A spot of festive baking will not only keep the kids busy for an hour or two, but you’ll also be left with some tasty treats to enjoy. You could even create a thoughtful homemade gift by baking something sweet and wrapping it up for someone special.
To help you get some bake-spiration, we’ve put together a board over on the CEWE Photoworld Pinterest account that’s full of festive cakes, biscuits and other treats. It’s enough to make you feel quite peckish!
If you do try out any of these Christmassy activities with your little ones, we’d love to see the results. Share your photos with us on Facebook or Instagram to show off their photo-taking, collage-making, festive-baking skills!
