On a gloriously sunny Sunday, we welcomed a mix of customers, bloggers and Instagrammers (and their families) to the gorgeous Audley End House in Essex for our #ExploreWithCEWE event.
This stunning English Heritage property was the perfect setting for a day of family fun, playing in the sun, and exploring some of our brand new products.
What a brilliant way to spend the Bank Holiday, showcase our new products, and kick off half term!
Set in beautiful gardens, which looked wonderful in the sunshine, Audley End House is a Jacobean mansion and one of England’s finest country houses. We were very lucky to be able to host our guests here, and a fabulous time was had by all.
The little ones loved exploring the children’s nursery, where they could play with old fashioned toys, and they were also very excited to get the chance to groom the horse. Our guests also had the opportunity to visit the Victorian kitchen, giving them a glimpse into life at the house in years gone by.
Time in the play area and a tasty picnic followed, before the afternoon was topped off by an exclusive sneak peek of some of our newest products. This included a quick tutorial on using our Creator Software and telling your story with a CEWE PHOTOBOOK – whether that’s the story of a special day out, a special holiday, or a special year.
We’re passionate about helping you bring your best memories to life with our beautiful products, and it’s days like this one – full of laughter and loved ones – that we’re here to help you treasure. We’re excited for you to see our new products for yourselves very soon, and we hope you’ll love them as much as our guests did!
Photographer Kika Mitchell also joined us to share her top tips for taking better family photos this summer. Whether you’re staying close to home or jetting off to somewhere more exotic, there are a few simple ways to improve your photography skills for capturing all that holiday fun on camera.
Here are a few of Kika’s key tips from the day:
Find clear backgrounds for prettier and more uncluttered photographs. Choose your location wisely.
Avoid placing your subject in full sunshine to avoid harsh shadows and unflattering squinting. Put your subject’s back to the sun or better still put subjects in the shade.
Avoid subjects saying cheese. How about ‘yay’ or shouting the family fave food. ‘PIZZA’ is much more fun than cheese!
Get low to photograph children, eye level or lower. Plus, it’s more fun for them. Get creative with little ones, be the monster snake trying to capture them and watch their reactions.
Have fun with your family pics, don’t make everyone look at the camera, that’s a sure way to make for awkward photographs. A lovely connection between everyone will show the love between you all for generations to come.
Capture your family in their natural environment being their true selves as much as possible. One day the squabbles, Paw Patrol scooters, and crazy dancing will be distant memories! Let’s make sure you remember the wonderful times. Photograph them now.
It was such a pleasure to spend the day with some friends of CEWE and their families, and we can’t wait to do it again! And remember, whatever adventures you’re planning with your own friends and family this summer, we’ll be here to help you bring those special memories to life.View All Blog Posts
