Sport is a massive part of our culture, from the Sunday morning kick about in the park to the must-win, stadium-filling match, from Olympic medals to cheering on the school sports days.
We have had some fantastic, action-packed entries to the Sport category of Our World is Beautiful. With just a few weeks left until the competition ends – and a packed summer of sporting fun getting underway – we thought we would share some of our favourites to inspire you to capture your own winning shot.
Capture the action
Make sure you don’t miss a moment by securing a prime position and setting your camera up before the action begins.
Capture the passion
Whether on the pitch or in the paddling pool, there’s always emotion and passion to be found.
Capture the details
From empty stadium seats to the perfect symmetry of a rowing boat, keep an eye out for the little details that can make for a more interesting photograph.
Capture the scenery
Seek out sporting events in picturesque places for even more beautiful images.
Capture the unusual
Sporting activities are all around us. Look out for opportunities to take unusual shots or photograph unusual sports.
Capture the breaks in play
Don’t put your camera away when the whistle blows. There’s still plenty to take pictures of.
Next time you have tickets to a sporting event, or come across a match or race when you’re out and about, get creative with your camera and see what shots you can capture. And if you do manage to take a winning shot, be sure to submit your photo to the CEWE Photo Award – Our World is Beautiful – but don’t delay, as the competition closes on the 30th June, and there’s a once in a lifetime holiday up for grabs!
